Scott Gibson

Scott Gibson is currently the Head of Strategy and Planning for Global Security at Uber. In this role, Scott oversees the development and execution of Global Security’s strategic plan and manages the team’s operating rhythm. The Global Security team is responsible for leading the company’s efforts in business continuity, crisis management, security operations, and threat management.


Prior to joining Uber, Scott was a Senior Associate with The Chertoff Group, a security risk management consulting firm based in Washington, DC led by former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff. Scott served in the strategic advisory services practice and supported engagements with Fortune 500 companies and government clients around the world.


Previously, Scott served as Deputy Chief of Preparedness (A) for the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness where he oversaw the development and implementation of the Office’s risk management methodology. He also served as a Fellow with the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the United States House of Representatives, focusing on U.S. security partnerships in Latin America.


Scott holds a Master of Arts in Global Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology from Washington and Lee University.
